adjective; (inˈfē ərē)
1. being in process of accomplishment : pending
2. beginning to have existence : not yet completely formed

Both this blog and I, as a human being, are in the process of accomplishment, not yet completely formed. Life is a journey and I’m learning to live it as I go; seeking after Truth, Love, and Wisdom.

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” —Philippians 1:6

This Blog
The topics I cover here are far and wide-ranging. They span culture, music, religion, philosophy, politics and more.  I’m primarily writing to process concepts and grow my nascent personal philosophy/theology into something worth reading one day.  So it’s a bit of a junk drawer of ideas right now, but there are a few interesting tidbits to be found here and there.

I welcome open, constructive conversations with people of opposing viewpoints. I believe in treating people with respect, so you won’t hear me engaging in name-calling or ad hominem attacks, nor will I allow those sorts of comments here.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command.” —Matthew 22:37-38

Meet Rob
I’m a bit of a paradox; a rule-following contrarian, an artistic logician, a peace-loving firearms enthusiast.  I play lead guitar with a classic rock singer or two you may have heard of. I also compose and arrange classical music and perform with the Nashville Praise Symphony.  I’m currently writing a novel and a non-fiction book on philosophy, I play now and again in an original band with my wife, and I’m a member of the worship band at my home church.

I hail from the Nashville, TN area (by way of Minneapolis, MN) where I live with my wife of 26 years and my two spectacular daughters. I am an American by birth, and a “mutt” by race.  (Seriously.  You should see the results of my DNA test.) I love traveling, learning about other cultures, and learning other languages. I’ve studied world religions, and am a philosopher, writer, lay theologian, and Christian apologist.

By trade I’ve made my living in the worlds of music and technology. I’m fortunate enough to have produced, recorded and performed music with many people on many projects from radio jingles, to movie scores, to bands. Currently I am working full-time as a UX Architect with a national healthcare company, heading up the design of their new multi-million dollar software platform. For 20 years prior to that I was a freelancer and an entrepreneur in the website and app development space.

But most astounding of all to me, I am loved by God.
